“Cooperation Between Uzbek and Mongolian Geologists: A Bridge of Trust and Future”

A precious stone from the depths of the earth is the fruit of millions of years of patience, and discovering it is a bridge of trust between nations. The geologists of Uzbekistan and Mongolia are together stepping across this bridge towards a bright future.

Promising projects aimed at jointly developing Afghanistan’s mineral raw material resources are being implemented.

The representative office of Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC has been opened in Mongolia. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Daadanhuu Batbaatar, paid an official visit to the representative office of Uzbek Overseas Geology Company in Mongolia. During the visit, discussions were held on the company’s areas of international cooperation, including joint projects carried out within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed with Mongolia’s Mon-Atom company. A “Road Map” for developing a strategy for cooperation between the state-owned enterprise Mon-Atom and Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC was approved.

A meeting was held between representatives of Uzbek Overseas Geology Company and Mongolia’s Mon-Atom company, aimed at developing cooperation in the field of geology. Based on the geological data and reports presented at the meeting, the following issues were discussed: clarifying the boundaries of existing fields; making changes, if necessary, to exploration points; identifying and presenting new prospective areas outside the existing ones for additional geological surveys; granting permits for exploration and confirmation works; and other related matters. These works are planned to be completed by the end of November 2025.

Representatives of Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC are carrying out analysis and research of geological materials related to uranium. The analytical works are aimed at assessing uranium reserves, identifying new promising areas, and organizing geological exploration activities more effectively.

An Agreement on Data Exchange was signed between Mon-Atom company and Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC. Preliminary information was provided on uranium fields located in Mongolia, including five promising “Greenfield” and one “Brownfield” sites, as well as information on the Mardai uranium deposit and the Adamas Mining company. All available data on uranium fields have been digitized by Mon-Atom, and a draft contract and price list were prepared for obtaining data on the proposed sites.
