As previously reported, under supervision of M.A. Khakimov, head of department at “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company”, large-scale pilot and experimental work was conducted in area of profile MJ2001 of Muhammad Jandahar investment block, located in the Balkh district of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with aim of effectively organizing and conducting 2D seismic exploration. 2D seismic exploration has now begun in southern part of this project, starting at survey line 20002. The total length of profile is 60.0 linear kilometers, with initial section located in mountainous and rugged terrain.
Nevertheless, all work is being carried out in strict compliance with high technical safety requirements. In hard-to-reach areas, bulldozers were used to level the soil, creating favorable conditions for seismic exploration. As a result of the work completed, seismic exploration has now been successfully completed over a distance of 17.75 linear kilometers. All work within project is continuing consistently in accordance with approved geological and geophysical plan.
