As previously reported, a technical delegation from the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is on an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Yesterday, members of the delegation visited the University of Geological Sciences. During the visit, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of the University Obidjon Qodirov, made a presentation for the guests. He provided detailed information about the organization of the University, areas of education, faculty, scientific potential, and modern material and technical base.

The presentation featured slides detailing the University's research, innovative projects in geology and mining, international cooperation, as well as the scientific personnel being trained in master’s and doctoral programs.

Furthermore, Maksud Rizayev, Head of the Regional Geological Department of “Uzbek geological exploration” provided a detailed overview of the Joint-stock company’s activities.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on issues of scientific research, exchange of experience, and establishment of further cooperation in the field of geology and the mining industry.
