Uzbekistan has a well-developed geology and mining industry in scientific, practical and technological terms. Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have taken another step in the mining industry. As part of the cooperation agreements signed between the Ministry of Mining industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Mining industry and Petroleum of Afghanistan, a professional development program for Afghan specialists in Uzbekistan will be implemented in November this year. The program was organized on the base of the State Institution “Institute of Advanced Training of Mining and Geology Workers” by “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company” in Tashkent.
As part of the program, Afghan mining industry specialists will strengthen their theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of geological exploration and laboratory research. They will also undergo an internship in the modern laboratories of the “UZBEK GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION” Joint-Stock Company. Here, Afghan specialists will be acquainted with modern methods of geological exploration, laboratory analyses and technologies for assessing mineral resources. They will learn how to work with modern exploration equipment and software that have not yet been widely used in Afghanistan.
This initiative will help strengthen cooperation between the two countries and expand the exchange of scientific and practical experience in the field of geology and mining.
