Mongolia is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of mineral reserves. The country has significant experience in geology and mining. Uzbekistan, on the other hand, stands out with its scientific school and workforce potential. Their union will bring beneficial results for both sides.
In this regard, Uzbekistan’s side was represented by L. Sharafutdinova, Vice-Rector of the University of Geological Sciences, and H. Omonov, CEO of “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company,” while Mongolia was represented by the heads of the Geological Institute at the University of Science and Technology. They met to discuss new programs on workforce training, scientific projects, and academic exchange.
The meeting involved detailed discussions on workforce training, practical and scientific experience exchange in geology. The parties explored prospects for strategic cooperation, signing a Memorandum of Understanding to organize the educational process according to international standards, establish academic exchange programs for students and faculty, and carry out joint scientific projects.
During the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Mongolia, important agreements were reached in the field of geology and mining industry. Within these agreements, cooperation was established in the exploration, extraction, and processing of minerals, workforce development, and implementation of joint educational programs.
This cooperation will enable Uzbek and Mongolian geologists to exchange experience, provide joint grants and internships for students and young specialists, conduct international scientific research together, and efficiently utilize the mining potential of both countries.
