On October 26-28, 2025, a delegation headed by Adviser to the Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the introduction of digital technologies in the field of mining industry and geology, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC” B. Narmatov and Deputy General Director of the company A. Mirabdullayev visited the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the visit, the delegation, with the participation of the Adviser on Economic Issues of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Iran, A. Nasirov held meetings with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran, major government organizations such as IMIDRO, GSI and IMPR, as well as with a number of private companies.
At the meetings discussed such issues as the supply of primary iron ore raw materials for enterprises producing rolled ferrous metals, extraction and processing of non-ferrous and precious metals, including copper and zinc, expansion of cooperation in the field of geological research, scientific and technical projects and education.
On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held with the management of the “Mashiran” company. At the meeting, a presentation was presented on the next stage of geological exploration – the processes of extraction and enrichment of minerals, the sequence of construction of plants for processing zinc, copper and iron ores. The parties studied the proposals and discussed issues of expanding cooperation.
On the second day of the visit, a meeting was held with a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran, Head of GSI Dariush Esmoili. The meeting discussed issues of conducting scientific research exploration on a scale of 1:50000 and developing a joint project between the two countries. A working group of specialists has been established, and it is noted that Uzbekistan will submit proposals within a week. Also, at the meeting with the Director General of the IMIDRO organization, Mohammad Masoud Samiinejad, issues of supplying metal raw materials to Uzbekistan were discussed. At a meeting with the director of the IMPRK Center for Mineral Resources, Ziaeddin Purkarimi, proposals were put forward for cooperation in the field of research, the study of gold manifestations, as well as the development and commercialization of metal extraction technologies.
During the visit, prospects for cooperation in the field of exploration, as well as the project of a zinc extraction and processing plant, were discussed with the companies TEHRAN NIKA Co.LTD and IRITEC.
