The head of “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company” Khaitboy Omonov, accompanied by an employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kabul, met with Sheikh Abdurrakhman Konet, Deputy Minister of Mining and Hydrocarbons of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs. During the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed within the framework of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Mining and Hydrocarbons of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Specifically, the following issues were considered:
🔹 Issuance of a license for geological exploration by the “Uzbek Overseas Geology Company”;
🔹 Issuance of a permit for the construction of a field camp;
🔹 Provision of benefits for the import and export of geology-related equipment;
🔹 Establishing cooperation in improving the qualifications of Afghan specialists.
This cooperation will expand Uzbekistan's export opportunities – a new market will be created through the export of geological exploration services, laboratory analysis, and engineering expertise to Afghanistan. Strengthening regional stability and cooperation – the revival of the Afghan economy will contribute to the creation of a stable environment in the country, Uzbekistan's southern neighbor.
For Afghanistan, the introduction of modern geological technologies – based on Uzbekistan's experience – will improve the efficiency of mineral exploration, infrastructure development – the construction of field camps, analytical laboratories, and geological exploration bases – will boost the local economy, further training and professional development – with the participation of Uzbek specialists – will enhance the skills of Afghan personnel. Investment and job creation – joint projects will provide new jobs for the local population.
The meeting was an important step in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and implementing joint projects.
